The consolidation of mining investments is a reality in the state of Chihuahua, where in spite of the local financial problems and the economic slowdown affecting the world, two new gold and silver mining operations are initiating production; Palmarejo and Pinos Altos will join the already producing sites of Dolores, El Sauzal, and Ocampo. These additions will bring about an important economic flow based on sustainable development and social responsibility.

This scenario has aroused great interest in the economic sector, especially among great national and international investors, who want to know what is happening in the mining sector of Chihuahua.

In this context, the Chihuahua District section of the Association of Mining, Metallurgical, and Geological Engineers (AIMMGM, A.C.), in coordination with the mining sector agencies of the state and federal government, has planned to carry out the 8^th INTERNATIONAL MINING CONFERENCE on April 21-23, 2010, at Centro de Exposiciones y Convenciones de Chihuahua.

Our goal is to offer an attractive program of lectures by numerous national and international experts in the mining field, thus confirming why this event is one of the most important ones in mining sector in the north of Mexico.
